Privacy Statement

When you apply for a membership or register for an activity via this website, personal data is processed by KIVI. KIVI (hereinafter also referred to as “we” or “us”) respects your privacy as a user of this website and treats your personal data with care. When processing personal data, KIVI acts in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and other relevant privacy legislation.

Purposes

The personal data you provide will be used by us:

Legal grounds

We process your personal data in order to execute the agreement you have with KIVI in connection with your membership or registration for an activity. For the rest, your personal data will only be processed if you have given us permission to do so.

Privacy settings

We want to give our members better satisfaction by making the content of the website correspond to their professional discipline. Therefore, when you are logged in, you will see information that corresponds to the discipline(ies) you have specified.

Based on the information provided at registration, your digital membership card will be created automatically. This digital membership card will be stored in our member database. The information in the member file is in principle also visible to other KIVI members when they are logged in. In this way, KIVI hopes to promote communication between its members.

If you do not appreciate this, you can choose to have your data protected. For most of your personal data, you can even indicate separately to whom it may be shown: only visible to you, visible to KIVI members or visible to all visitors of the website. Only your name remains visible at all times to KIVI members who are logged in.

Passing on to third parties

We will not provide your personal data to third parties, unless they are involved in the execution of an agreement between you and KIVI. For example, the mailing house that sends our magazine De Ingenieur.

Security

KIVI has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. Persons who act on behalf of KIVI and who have access to your data are bound to secrecy.

The security of your personal data is of course also based on the confidentiality of your login data. We therefore ask you to handle this carefully and not to share your login data with others.

Rights

You have the right to obtain an answer from us as to whether or not we process your personal data, as well as the right to access such personal data. You also have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected and completed. In addition, you can request us to delete your personal data, object to the processing of your personal data or request the restriction of the processing. Finally, you have the right – in certain situations – to obtain the personal data you have provided us with in a common and machine-readable form and to transfer them to another party. You can view and edit your personal data and personal settings yourself by logging in and adjusting your account settings. You can also delete your own account.

If you need assistance in doing so or wish to exercise any of your other rights, please send a message to info@kivi.nl. If we do not respond to your request within the statutory time limit, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority or to file an appeal with the courts.

Storage period

We will retain your personal data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes of collection, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Cookies

We use functional cookies to improve your visit to our website. These cookies check if you are logged in when you visit different pages on our website, so you don’t have to log in every time.

We also use Google Analytics to track visitor numbers and receive information on the use of our website. In order to protect your personal data, we have set up Google Analytics in such a way that your IP address is not visible to Google.

It is possible to disable and/or delete existing cookies. How you should set this up, however, depends on the browser you are using. We therefore recommend that you consult the help function of your browser to set your preferred cookie preferences.
