Voor als je je afvraagt, hoe werkt die laptop/smartphone die ik elke dag gebruik eigenlijk ? Het gaat niet over halfgeleiders, maar over het facinerende verhaal van het werkingsprincipe. Dat begint met een simpel bouwblok, de logische poort, en met een paar creatieve vindingen blijkt dit te kunnen leiden tot de magiche complexe machinerie van gegeugen, processoren, schermen, toetsenborden, …, die je aantreft in een laptop of smartphone. Heel goed leesbaar.
Deze tip kreeg ik door van Mathijs Verhoev (vz. KS): What If? Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions door Randall Munroe. Een boek over wetenschap met een gezonde dosis humor. Door dit boek ga je weer terug in de tijd naar waarom je voor de techniek hebt gekozen in the first place. Gekke vragen met serieuze antwoorden.
